The story

Conceived to replace the Żuk and Nysa, the Lublin paired a simple design with a price Poland's emerging businesses could afford. Its range stretched from pickups to 15-seat minibuses.3456

    October 15: Lublin 33 production starts

    The Lublin 33 launches with the 4C90 diesel, initially as a chassis for dropside, box and fiberglass van bodies.7

  2. 1994

    BelAZ starts Belarusian assembly

    Assembly begins in Zhodino on March 22. BelAZ builds 486 production trucks through 1998, making its own frames and using MTZ tractor steering wheels.8

  3. 1997

    Lublin II debuts; 15,754 Lublins built

    Daewoo, owner since 1995, gives Lublin II front discs and a Tczew five-speed. Family output rises from 7,686 in 1996 to 15,754, with 3,543 exported.1

  4. 1999

    Lublin 3 gets Kia gears and zinc

    Lublin 3 adds the Kia gearbox, progressive leaf springs and partial galvanizing. Family output is 11,368, down from 13,404 in 1998.19

  5. 2005

    3Mi facelift before the 2007 shutdown

    The round-headlight 3Mi launches in March. ADCR versions follow in March 2007; that year's output totals just 73 before Intrall's bankruptcy.1

  6. 2011

    DZT revives it as the Pasagon

    DZT, which acquired the production rights in 2009, starts Pasagon production on January 3 with the 2.6-liter common-rail Andoria ADCR.710

  7. 2013

    Honker Cargo closes a 20-year run

    Renamed Honker Van, then Cargo, in September 2012, the family ends in 2013. About 150 vans are built in 2011-2013; only 20 wear the new front.7

Look for

  • Lublin 3 has large indicator and parking-light units at the front corners.17
  • Lublin 3Mi is recognizable by its round headlights.1
  • On 3Mi van, Combi and microbus bodies, look for round rear lamps.1
  • Badges vary: FSC Lublin, Daewoo, a black Andoria badge, or Intrall Polska.18

    Lublin II adds a new grille and front bumper, plus a revised dashboard and steering wheel.1

  2. 1999

    Lublin 3 moves the indicators to the corners beside the headlights and gains bulkier mirror housings.110

  3. 1999

    Lublin 3 microbus versions gain a third brake light above the rear doors.1

  4. 2002–2004

    Andoria's black badge replaces Daewoo's in 2002; Intrall Polska branding follows in 2004.1

  5. 2005

    Lublin 3Mi gets round headlights and a new grille; van, Combi and microbus versions also gain round rear lamps.1

  6. 2011–2013

    Restyled Pasagons have a longer, fuller nose, but most final production retains the Lublin 3Mi cab.714
