The story

Created to replace the Żuk, the Lublin took 17 years to reach production in October 1993 as funding ran short. Intrall's 3Mi added round headlights and an optional 2.8 L Iveco diesel.14

  1. 1976

    Lublin 25/35 prototypes take shape

A separate chassis, an Andoria diesel and shared body parts set the pattern for a new van family.5

  2. 1993

    Production starts on October 15

The 17-year wait ends with a short-wheelbase chassis and three-seat cab; flatbed and box bodies carry the 3352 and 3372 codes.15

  3. 1997

    Lublin II: 510 design changes

The March 21 debut adds 750 new parts. Annual output reaches 15,754, with 3,543 for export; the Czech Republic is the biggest foreign market.1

  4. 1999

Lublin 3 switches to Kia gears

Around 300 revisions improve corrosion protection and add progressive springs. Kia's gearbox becomes standard, with the Tczew unit optional.1

  5. 2002

    Andoria restarts production

Assembly resumes April 4 with Andoria badges, though only 1,322 vehicles are built that year.1

  6. 2005

3Mi: round lights and stronger diesels

March production brings an intercooled Andoria with 101 hp and 230 Nm; an optional 2.8 L Iveco diesel lifts output to 123 hp.16

  7. 2006

    3756 gains twin rear wheels

The 0756 chassis and 3756 flatbed arrive in late January: 4,600 kg gross weight, 2,450 kg payload and independent front suspension.1

  8. 2007

PLN 24 million in debt ends Intrall

New projects funded from operating cash leave PLN 24 million in debt. Production stops in May; October bankruptcy follows. Just 73 built, 4 for export.17

How to spot one

Look for

  • Lublin 3: large indicator and parking-light units at the front corners.1
  • The 3Mi is recognizable by its round headlights.1
  • On 3Mi vans, Kombi and microbuses, the rear lamps are round too.1
  • Lublin 3 microbuses have a third brake light above the rear doors.1

Year by year

  1. 1997: Lublin II

New grille, front bumper and wiper arms; inside, a redesigned dashboard, gauges and steering wheel.18

  2. 1999: Lublin 3

Front indicators moved from above the bumper to the corners at headlamp height; the hood and fender edges became rounder.111

  3. 2002: Andoria

Production resumed with a black Andoria badge replacing the Daewoo emblem.1

  4. 2003: factory crew cab

Purpose-made glazed rear doors replaced duplicated front-style doors; the new rear doors had exposed hinges.112

  5. 2005: Lublin 3Mi

Round headlights and a new grille arrived; vans, Kombi and microbuses gained round rear lamps, echoing the Żuk.1

  6. 2006: 0756 / 3756

The heavy-duty version introduced twin rear wheels and larger external dimensions.1

Don’t confuse it with

  • DZT Pasagon

Its redesigned grille projects farther forward to make room for new engines.811

  • Honker Cargo

Many kept the 3Mi cab; Cargo came only with the longer 3,433 mm wheelbase, so the front alone may not separate them.8

  • GAZ Gazela

In the Lublin III van comparison, the Gazela has twin rear wheels and a roof between the Lublin's two roof heights.13

Against its rivals

  • Lublin vs Żuk

    Starting price lower is better

    Żuk125 million zł

  • Lublin vs GAZ Gazela
