The story

Created to replace the 307, the 308 reinvented itself in 2013: EMP2 cut 140 kg, while i-Cockpit put the dials above a smaller wheel. China's second-generation hatchback became the 308S to distinguish it from the sedan.23

How to spot one

Look for

  • First-generation hatchback and CC: swept-back headlights and a gaping grille.212

  • Third generation: shield in the grille; pre-facelift cars have vertical LED fangs.216
  • Third generation: slim claw-mark rear lamps linked visually by a black tailgate strip.211

  3. 2017

Second-generation facelift: reshaped hood and front bumper, lion badge in the grille and scrolling indicators.23

  4. 2020
