How to spot one

Look for

  • Facelifted first generation: an upright grille with Peugeot's lion centered inside.2
  • Second-generation fastback: a sedan-like tail, but the rear window lifts with a long hatch.3
  • Early LED-equipped second-generation cars have long light tusks descending from the headlights.3
  • European second-generation cars have frameless door glass; China's 508L has window frames.2
  • Second-generation SW: the rear quarter window has a beveled lower edge.15

Year by year

  1. 2018 (European second gen)

The European sedan becomes a fastback with a long rear hatch and frameless door glass.23

  2. 2023 (second generation)

    A revised nose introduces Peugeot's new badge.2

Don’t confuse it with

  • Peugeot 407

The first 508 has a shorter front overhang; the 407 has a large grille and steeply raked windshield pillars.216

Against its rivals

  • Ford Mondeo

    508 vs Ford Mondeo

    CO2 emissions lower is better

    508125 g/km
    Ford Mondeo139 g/km
