1940年にCadillacのエントリーモデルとして登場したSeries 62。Coupe de VilleとEldoradoを生み、1948年にはP-38を思わせるテールフィンを採用しました。1959年にSeries 6200となり、1965年にはCalaisへと名を変えました。1

  1. 1940

    魚雷型ボディのSeries 62登場

    新型Series 62は、Fisher製トーピードボディ、129インチのホイールベース、オプションのランニングボードを採用し、1940年にSeries 61に取って代わりました。12

    戦時規制でバンパーを塗装仕上げに

    January's chrome ban brought painted bumpers before production paused in February. Series 62s led the civilian restart for the 1946 model year.1

  3. 1948

    P-38を思わせるテールフィン登場

    戦後初の全面新設計ボディに、Lockheed P-38を思わせるテールフィンを採用。一方、346-cu-inのフラットヘッドV8は継続されました。1

  4. 1949

    160 hp、初のCar of the Year受賞

    フラットヘッドに代わり、160-hpの331-cu-in OHV V8を搭載。約91 kgの軽量化も実現しました。Cadillacは全モデルで初のCar of the Yearに選ばれました。134

    532台のEldorado、その後1954年に新ボディ

    GMのフルサイズ車が基本プラットフォームを共有するなか、ファミリーはSeries 6200となりました。巨大なテールフィンには、ジェットノズルを思わせるランプが左右に備わりました。17

    スケグと傾斜ピラーのウインドシールド

    全面改良でテールフィンを短くし、下側にはSkegsと呼ばれるフィンを追加。ラップアラウンド・ウインドシールドは傾斜したピラーを持つ形に変わりました。8

  9. 1964

    429エンジンでSeries 62の時代に幕

    最終型Series 62には340-hpの429-cu-inエンジンを搭載。de VilleがTurbo Hydra-Maticを得る一方、こちらはHydra-Maticを継続しました。1965年にはCalaisが後を継ぎました。19
