    October's debut offered wagon, Commuter, delivery van and truck bodies; the wagon and van had monocoque construction and independent front suspension.1

    February's second generation enlarged the cargo cabin; 9- and 10-seat wagons followed in April.4

    New RZ gasoline engines arrived with August's fourth generation. In October 1990, its 2.4-liter 2L-T turbo-diesel became the electronically controlled 2L-TE.67

    August's Japanese wagon facelift replaced the 2L-TE and 3L diesels with the 3.0-liter 1KZ-TE; 4WD models switched from part-time to full-time drive.67

    July's wagon update added a water-cooled intercooler to the 3.0-liter diesel, raising torque; Super Custom Limited gained second-row captain's chairs.8
