The story

Developed with the Berlingo to replace aging vans, the Partner arrived in 1996 with a ludospace formula: one body for work and family life. Its second-generation passenger version became the Partner Tepee in 2008.23

    PSA's ludospace concept combines work and family versions in one body; the Partner and Berlingo share the Citroën ZX platform.2

    Ushuaïa Grand Raid gets limited slip

    January's Ushuaïa Grand Raid pairs front-wheel drive with a limited-slip differential, 30 mm more ground clearance and an underbody plate.4

    The bigger Partner becomes Tepee

    Length grows from 4,137 to 4,380 mm as the second-generation passenger model takes the Tepee name.35

    Tepee earns 3 Euro NCAP stars

    The test returns 56% adult protection, 74% child protection, 63% pedestrian protection and 48% safety assistance.67

  5. 2017

    22.5 kWh; 8-year/100,000 km battery cover

    Estimated: 20.5 kWh usable, 100 km real range, 205 Wh/km. An 8A home charge takes 15 hours; optional CHAdeMO reaches 80% in 30 minutes.89

  6. 2018

    Rifter takes Europe's passenger role

    The next-generation passenger model becomes Rifter, while the third-generation Partner carries on as a van.510

  7. 2021

    Crossway revives the family in Russia

    The second generation returns as the Kaluga-built Partner Crossway; gasoline buyers can choose a six-speed Aisin automatic never offered in Europe.10

  8. 2024

    Patagónica's passenger run ends

    After a late-1999 debut, Argentina's Patagónica is reported withdrawn from sale; Peugeot's van continues.11

How to spot one

Look for

  • First generation: a one-volume body with a nose resembling the Peugeot 106.2
  • Tepee: tall, boxy body, sliding side doors and chunky bumpers.1
  • Original Tepee face: a huge grille, highlighted by broad silver trim on Outdoor models.20
  • Later Tepees have a chrome grille with Peugeot lettering along its top.7
  • Optional Zenith roof: 4 separate tinted glass panels.113

  1. 2003

    The first generation gains a reshaped front end and different headlights.5

  2. 2012–2015

    Tepee headlights become rounder, the logo sits on the hood, and higher trims gain LED running lights below the headlights.512

  3. 2015–2018

    Tepee's lion sits in a new grille; fog lamps and LED running lights, when fitted, sit low at the bumper corners.1213

  4. 2021 (Argentina)

    The passenger Patagónica switches from its imported tailgate to locally made double rear doors.2
