The story

Created to succeed the Virage, the Vanquish combined a V12 with bonded aluminum and a carbon-fiber backbone. Its three generations span 2001–2007, 2012–2018 and 2024 onward: two production breaks, two returns.1

    The V12 Vanquish debuts at Geneva. A November comparison test puts it just two points behind the Ferrari 550 Maranello.14

    The S debuts at Paris with 520 hp, quicker steering, stiffer suspension and larger brakes.3

  4. 2007

    Newport Pagnell's final Vanquish

    Production ends on July 19 as the factory closes. The S Ultimate Edition marks the farewell with Ultimate Black paint.13

  5. 2012

    Project AM310 revives the name

    Project AM310 previews the revival at Villa d'Este. The production Vanquish pairs the VH platform with carbon-fiber panels and 25% more torsional rigidity than the DBS.56

  6. 2015

    Eight speeds unlock 323 km/h

    For the 2015 model year, an eight-speed Touchtronic III automatic joins a 568 hp V12, lifting the claimed maximum to 323 km/h.15

  7. 2018

    175 Ultimates close the second chapter

    The Vanquish S Ultimate offers three paint-and-trim themes across 175 coupes and Volantes. The DBS Superleggera takes over.57

  8. 2024

    Twin turbos bring a 345 km/h return

    The third generation replaces the DBS Superleggera with a 5.2 L twin-turbo V12: 824 hp, 1000 Nm and 345 km/h.18

    Q marks 25 years with 50 cars

    Q by Aston Martin unveils Vanquish 25: 25 coupes and 25 Volantes, with Q Skye Silver paint and stainless-steel side strakes.9

  • Original V12 Vanquish: separate auxiliary driving lamps and turn indicators flank the grille.3
  • Original V12 Vanquish: pronounced rear wheel arches and a short tail.3
  • Third-generation Vanquish: shield panel between the tiered rear lights.22
  • 2025 Vanquish: two hood vents, each with six openings—one per cylinder.11

    S adds a broader grille, splitter and raised rear spoiler; the center brake light moves from rear glass to spoiler, and a rear S badge appears.14
