How to spot one

Look for

  • Original Coupe: stubby nose, flared rear fenders and a hatchback tail.21
  • Original body: a sharp crease trails the front fender vent.21
  • 2018 generation: gaping grille, squinting headlights and a broad clamshell hood.24
  • 2018 generation: tapering cabin, wide rear hips and an assertive diffuser.24
  • Both modern generations: swan doors tilt upward as they open.2321

Year by year

  1. 2009

New 20-spoke wheels and optional Sports Pack 5-spoke wheels; the center console adopted DBS/DB9 styling.3

  2. 2012 (midyear)

Regular V8 models adopted the S version's front and rear styling.3

  3. 2016 onward

Look inside for a redesigned, Vanquish-influenced dashboard and a tidier bank of controls.11

  4. 2018

Scalloped side vents replaced the earlier side strakes; the new nose paired narrow lights with a wide-open grille.2413

  5. 2020

Both bodies gained an optional vane grille as an alternative to the launch car's hunter grille.6

Don’t confuse it with

  • Aston Martin DB9

The original Vantage has a hatchback tail, a stubbier nose and a sharp crease trailing its front fender vent.21
