How to spot one

Look for

  • Smooth, flowing bodywork and a grilleless face; the ID.4's drag coefficient is 0.28.34
  • Short overhangs, with wheels pushed toward the body's corners.218
  • On equipped cars, an illuminated strip links the headlights.16
  • Optional contrasting trim highlights the C-pillars.4
  • Raised ride height and plastic body cladding give the streamlined shape its SUV stance.18

Year by year

  1. 2023 (North America)

Redesigned center console; the 12-inch infotainment screen becomes standard across the range.219

  2. 2024

Pro trims gain a driver-angled 12.9-inch screen and lit sliders; the updated cockpit uses a steering-column drive selector.2812

Don’t confuse it with

  • Volkswagen ID.3

Look for the ID.4's taller ride height and plastic body cladding around its ID.3-like streamlined body.18
