How to spot one
Look for
- 2004-generation cars have a ribbon-like side line linking the headlights and taillights.17
- On 2017-generation cars, blacked-out pillars make the roof appear to float.5
- 2017-generation cars have upright front and rear lamps.5
- 2017-generation Sport: honeycomb grille, carbon-look sills and twin exhaust outlets.9
- 2024 cars have an oval grille and a clamshell-style hood.18
Year by year
- 2004 to 2010
The 2010 car keeps the 2004 silhouette but looks longer and rounder; wheelbase grows from 2,390 to 2,430 mm and the tracks widen.48
- 2013
The facelift brings a revised bumper, L-shaped LED running lights in the fog-lamp surrounds and new 16-inch wheels.8
- 2017
Five-door only, with rear handles in the C-pillars; a lower, wider body and black pillars create a floating-roof effect.518
- 2020
The regular Swift gets a three-dimensional dot-pattern grille with a horizontal chrome bar, polished alloys and two-tone color options.19
- 2024
Rear handles return to the doors; an oval grille, L-shaped front DRLs and C-shaped elements in trapezoidal taillights mark the new shape.18
