The story

Built to replace the Favorit, the Felicia was Škoda's first car developed with Volkswagen. Its predecessor was reworked with 1,187 new components, and more than 1.4 million Felicias were built.12

    Charles Bridge christening

    On October 26, Prague's mayor christens three Felicia hatchbacks in Czech flag colors with Vltava water on Charles Bridge.1

  2. 1995

    Combi adds a 447-liter trunk

    June brings the Combi estate with 447 liters of luggage space, extending length from the original hatchback's 3,855 mm to 4,205 mm.24

  3. 1995

    AEE petrol and AEF diesel join the range

    Summer brings the AEE 1.6 MPI petrol engine, with 74 hp and 137 Nm; Frankfurt adds the AEF 1.9 D diesel, with 63 hp and 124 Nm.45

    Laurin & Klement brings leather

    The first Laurin & Klement edition pairs dark blue pearl paint and retro 13-inch alloys with leather even covering the door panels.26

    1.3 MPI arrives for model year 1997

    Bosch single-point injection gives way to Siemens MPI on the 1.3 from July 1, for model year 1997; power stays at 54 or 67 hp.47

    Third overall at the RAC Rally

    Stig Blomqvist and Benny Melander take the Felicia Kit Car to third overall; the 1996 event is outside the WRC calendar.8

    An Octavia-style face for February

    A new grille echoes the Octavia, while the hatchback grows 28 mm and the Combi 32 mm.124

    Hatchback production moves to Kvasiny

    At the end of March, hatchback production leaves Mladá Boleslav for Kvasiny, overlapping with the Fabia launched in 1999.149
