The story

Built as the Captur's bigger brother, the 2015-2022 Kadjar used the Qashqai's CMF-CD platform. Its name blends quad with the French agile and jaillir.23

    Geneva debut with dCi 130 4WD

    Renault's C-segment crossover debuted at Geneva. The dCi 130 4WD had 2WD/Auto/Lock modes; front-drive versions could add Extended Grip.345

    UK buyers gained the TCe 165 turbo gasoline engine with a six-speed manual, plus the dCi 130 Auto X-Tronic CVT option.8

    450,000 sales before the facelift

    By the facelift announcement, 450,000 had sold since 2015. The update reshaped both ends and revised the touchscreen and climate controls.9

    TCe 140/160 and Blue dCi 115/150

    The facelift brought 1.3-liter TCe 140/160 gasoline engines and 1.5/1.7-liter Blue dCi 115/150 diesels, with optional four-wheel drive on the 150.10

  8. 2020

    Limited replaces Graphite

    Zen-based Limited replaced Graphite, adding navigation, a reversing camera and 17-inch alloy wheels.11

  9. 2022

    685,261 built; Austral takes over

    Production ended in mid-July after 685,261 cars from Palencia and Wuhan. The Austral succeeded the Kadjar and began production in 2022.3
