    500 Racing Pumas for the UK

    Tickford's road special pairs 153 hp with 17-inch Speedlines, wider tracks and Alcon brakes. Only 500 are built, all for the UK.12

    Coupe production ends

    The coupe leaves production after about 133,000 cars, including the Racing Puma; remaining stock stays on sale into late 2002.2

    Puma returns as a crossover

    Craiova, Romania, starts production in October. Seventh-generation Fiesta underpinnings meet a 456-liter trunk and washable 80-liter MegaBox.34

    ST gets 17% larger brakes

    The 1.5 ST reaches 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, with a stiffer twist beam and an optional Quaife limited-slip differential.567

    Gen-E makes the Puma electric

    The 166 hp Gen-E debuts December 3, with GigaBox underfloor storage and 100 kW DC charging for a 10–80% top-up in about 23 minutes.3

    Ford's UK best-seller in 2021 leads the whole market in 2023, 2024 and 2025; 2025 sales exceed 55,000, a new annual Puma record.38

Look for

  • Original coupe: a small three-door body with a low roof.219
  • Original coupe: round rear lamps sit behind a lens.19
  • Crossover: headlights perch on top of the front fenders.4
  • Crossover: a low, sloping roof above pronounced wheel arches.4
  • Crossover: split rear-light clusters.4

Year by year

  1. Late 2000 coupe

    Later coupes usually have nine-spoke alloys instead of propeller-style wheels, plus a third brake light in the tailgate.1

  2. February 2024 crossover

    New headlights, grille and slimmer bumpers outside; inside, a square two-spoke wheel, 12-inch center screen and 12.3-inch instrument display.38

  3. 2026 crossover colors

    Cactus Grey joins the Gen-E palette; Electric Yellow becomes available on EcoBoost models.9
