The story

Built to answer the Nissan Qashqai, the Kuga started on Focus-derived C1 foundations. Its second generation became a global model, sharing 80% of its parts with the Escape.12

    The Iosis X concept debuted in Paris in 2006; a preview of the production Kuga followed at Frankfurt in 2007.3

    Production began in Saarlouis, Germany, on February 26; the Focus-based, road-biased crossover reached Europe that year.145
