The story

For 2007, Ford filled the gap between Escape and Explorer with its first North American midsize crossover. The Edge borrowed its name from a Ranger trim and its underpinnings from the Fusion sedan.5

    The first-generation Edge made its Detroit debut ahead of the 2007 model year; launch cars paired a 265-hp 3.5 L V6 with a six-speed automatic.56

  • 2007 Edge: horizontal chrome grille bars frame an oversized blue Ford oval.6
  • 2007 Edge: clear-lens taillights sit flush with the body.6
