The story

Duster arrived in 2010 to put a rugged family SUV within reach. Its original 4WD used a first gear so low it could crawl at 5.79 km/h at 1,000 rpm.2

    Mk1 debuted at Geneva on B0 underpinnings; its 4x4 paired 210 mm ground clearance with Nissan's three-mode drive system.3

How to spot one

Look for

  • Mk1: a boxy profile and small, upright taillights.15
  • Mk2: black 'snorkel' trim between each front fender and door houses a side indicator.2
  • Mk3: Y-shaped headlights and taillights, echoed in the alloy-wheel pattern.6
  • Mk3: white flecks give the unpainted wheel-arch and lower-body cladding a mottled finish.6

Year by year

  1. 2013 / 2014 UK

    Mk1 gains chrome grille rectangles and divided headlights; window switches move to the doors. The UK exterior refresh follows in 2014.111

  2. 2018

    Mk2 replaces every body panel, introduces new LED daytime running lights and positions the infotainment screen higher on the dashboard.1013

  3. 2021

    Mk2 reshapes its front and rear light signatures, simplifies the grille and enlarges the upper-trim touchscreen from 7 to 8 inches.10

  4. 2022–2023

    Mk2 adopts the DC grille emblem and new Dacia lettering on the tailgate and steering wheel.1014

  5. 2024

    Mk3 introduces a vertical nose, chamfered wheel-arch guards and Y-shaped headlights and taillights.6

  6. 2025 update

    With the powertrain update, Extreme gets black alloy wheels and Journey gains exclusive upholstery with matching cabin trim.9
