Look for

  • T1-inspired bus shape with a prominent VW nose badge.1
  • Optional two-tone paint puts white above yellow, orange, blue or green.14
  • Boxy profile, long roof and a pair of sliding side doors.14
  • Slim rear LEDs linked by a full-width light bar across the broad tailgate.14

Year by year

  1. 2022 launch

Early cabins had a 10-inch touchscreen, or 12-inch on higher trims; launch passenger models had five seats.14

  2. 2024 long-wheelbase launch

The long body is 4,962 mm versus 4,712 mm; wheelbase is 3,238 versus 2,988 mm, with sliding doors 190 mm longer.12

  3. 2024 GTX

GTX introduced a 12.9-inch touchscreen in place of the 12-inch unit, plus an illuminated temperature and volume touch bar.24

  4. Summer 2026 update

Revised steering-wheel buttons; Candy White/Cherry Red joins the two-tone paint choices.11

  5. 2028 U.S. (planned)

The announced U.S. return brings physical steering-wheel buttons and the camping-focused Tourer trim.9

Don’t confuse it with

  • ID. Buzz Cargo

Look for rear passenger seats: Cargo has only front seating and a bulkhead, and can have windowless twin rear doors.1

  • Volkswagen Type 2 (T1)

A split windshield identifies the T1; the Buzz has slim rear LED lights joined by a full-width light bar.1314
