The story

Nissan brought the crossover idea to the small-car class with the Juke in 2010. US launch models offered a 188-hp turbo and torque-vectoring AWD that could send up to half the engine's torque to either rear wheel.34

  4. 2015

    600-hp Juke-R 2.0 at Goodwood

The concept debuts with GT-R power and carbon-fiber bumpers, wheel-arch flares and side sills.7

How to spot one

Look for

  • Original Juke: lights perch atop the front fenders, above separate round main headlights.223
  • Original Juke: rear door handles hide in the window frames near the rear pillars.2
  • Original Juke: boomerang-shaped taillights echo the Nissan 370Z.4
  • Second generation: Y-shaped LEDs inside round headlights, plus a floating-roof profile.29

Year by year

  1. 2014 Europe / 2015 model year

The first-generation facelift brings L-shaped upper LED lights, a revised grille, reshaped bumpers and LED mirror indicators.26

  2. 2014 facelift: rear

The rear gets a more aggressive bumper and revised boomerang taillights with LED light guides.6

  3. 2019

The second generation introduces Y-shaped LEDs within round headlights, a V-Motion grille and floating-roof styling.210

  4. 2024: cabin

A redesigned console joins a 12.3-inch center screen; N-Connecta and higher grades gain 12.3-inch digital instruments.12

  5. 2024: exterior

A paler yellow returns, while N-Connecta and Tekna+ receive distinct new five-spoke wheel designs.12

Don’t confuse it with

  • Mini Countryman (2011)

The Mini's headlights poke through its clamshell hood; the Juke's round headlights sit below separate position lights.223

Against its rivals

  • Juke vs Mini Cooper S Countryman ALL4 (2011)

Price as tested lower is better

    Juke$23,820
