The story

Created to sit between Evoque and Range Rover Sport, the original Velar shared its aluminum platform and 2,874 mm wheelbase with the Jaguar F-Pace. It was 4,803 mm long, with flush handles and twin 10-inch cabin screens.23

    The L560 is unveiled at London's Design Museum on March 1, joining the lineup between Evoque and Range Rover Sport.23

    P400e plug-in and Pivi arrive

    Pivi and 48-volt mild hybrids arrive. P400e brings a 17.1 kWh battery, up to 53 km electric range and 30-minute DC charging to 80%.7

    HST announced for model year 2023

    HST adds a 395-hp mild-hybrid six, air suspension with Adaptive Dynamics, exclusive Arroios Grey paint and black 21-inch wheels.8

    Curved screen, longer-range P400e

    A new rear bumper joins an 11.4-inch curved screen. P400e gets a 19.2 kWh battery, up to 64 km WLTP range and 30-minute DC charging to 80%.9

    400 Belgravia Edition Satin models

    Belgravia Edition joins the 2026 range. Satin pairs protective film with 22-inch wheels and an interior finisher marked '1 of 400'.101112

How to spot one

Look for

  • Flush door handles retract into the doors when locked and extend when unlocked.2
  • A low roof sits above a rising waistline and tapering side windows.219
  • Very thin headlights flank an upright grille above pronounced bumper air inlets.2
  • Fender vents sweep back from the front axle line toward the front doors.2
  • The taillights and rear badge share a horizontal band across the tail.20

    The original cabin has a rotary gear selector and two 10-inch center touchscreens.216

  2. 2021

    A new Drive Selector replaces the rotary dial, and the redesigned steering wheel gains integrated smart buttons.16

  3. 2022 model year

    Lantau Bronze becomes a range-wide color; it had initially been exclusive to the Velar Edition.718

  4. 2023 refresh

    A new grille and available Pixel LED headlights give the nose a jewel-like light signature.9

    The new lower rear bumper hides the tailpipes; revised LED taillights have a 3D appearance and super-red illumination.9
