The story

Introduced in 2015 to replace the GLK, the GLC brought C-Class architecture to a larger SUV. Its name connects the G-Class's G with the C-Class's C, using L as the link.23

    For model year 2020, the V6 GLC43 rises to 385 hp, up 23 hp. The GLC350e's battery grows from 8.7 to 13.5 kWh.6

    X254 makes electrification universal

    Unveiled in June, the second-generation X254 switches to an entirely electrified engine range, with mild hybrids and plug-in hybrids.27

    AMG's first performance hybrid SUV

    The new GLC43 and GLC63 S E Performance gain electric turbochargers and standard rear steering; the hybrid 63 delivers 671 hp.8

  • Original Coupé: the sloping roof stretches into the rear haunches.17
  • Newer AMG models: four round exhaust tips on the 43, four trapezoidal tips on the 63.8

  1. 2016

    The first Coupé introduces a descending roofline and a sharp rear spoiler lip alongside the conventional SUV.517

  2. 2019 / 2020 model year

    The first-generation facelift changes both bumpers and the grille, flattens the headlights and redesigns the LED rear lights.25

  3. 2020 model year

    Inside, the facelift brings a 10.25-inch MBUX touchscreen; a 12.3-inch digital instrument display is optional.25

  4. 2022 redesign

    The earlier screen stands above circular vents; the replacement's 11.9-inch center display rises directly from the console.21723
