    Range Stormer opens its gullwing doors

    Richard Woolley's three-door Range Stormer concept previews the Sport with split-folding gullwing doors.3

  2. 2005

    L320: the Discovery-based Sport

    The first Sport uses Discovery 3/LR3 underpinnings, standard four-corner air suspension and Terrain Response.34

  3. 2010

    New 3.0 diesel and 5.0-liter V8s

    L320 HSE replaces its 300 hp 4.4-liter V8 with a 370 hp 5.0; Supercharged gets 510 hp, and the revised 3.0-liter TDV6 makes 241 hp.3

  4. 2013

    L494 sheds up to 360 kg

    The L494 adopts an aluminum monocoque, saves up to 360 kg and introduces optional 5+2 seating.56

  5. 2014

    SVR debuts with an 8:14 lap

    The first SVR badge goes to the 542 hp supercharged V8 Sport, with a claimed production-SUV Nürburgring record and an 850 mm wading depth.789

  6. 2022

    L461: switchable-volume air springs

    The L461 launches with six-cylinder mild hybrids, a 503 hp electric hybrid and a 523 hp V8; the Stormer Handling Pack adds rear steering.310

  7. 2023

    SV swaps anti-roll bars for hydraulics

    The 626 hp Sport SV arrives with hydraulically linked 6D Dynamics, optional 23-inch carbon-fiber wheels and carbon-ceramic brakes.111

  8. 2026

    TWENTY Edition brings back the orange

    With over 1 million sales behind it, TWENTY Edition celebrates 20 years since the first full production year and offers Sanguinello Orange.1

How to spot one

Look for

  • First generation: black roof pillars create a floating-roof effect above a clamshell hood.34
  • Second generation: rounded profile, short overhangs and a low, sloping roof.36
  • 2021 cars: lights flow into a slim grille, with pronounced fender vents.12
  • Third generation: flush door handles and flush glazing give the sides a smooth outline.10
  • Third generation: very slim headlights and tailgate-wide trim carrying Range Rover lettering.10

Year by year

  1. 2010

    First generation gains reshaped headlights, grille and bumpers, revised rear lights and a new dashboard with roughly half as many buttons.3

  2. 2012

    First generation adds a powered one-piece tailgate; eight-speed SDV6 models use a rotary gear selector.3

  3. 2013

    Second generation gets a rounded profile, a lower sloping roof and shorter overhangs.36

  4. 2018

    LED headlights, a revised grille and bumper, and twin cabin screens arrive; P400e hides its charge port behind the grille badge.20

  5. 2022

    Third generation introduces flush handles, very slim headlights and a full-width tailgate feature carrying Range Rover lettering.10
