The story

Built from 2014 to 2024 to replace the Gallardo, the Huracán matched its predecessor's 14,022-car total in half the time. Its chassis architecture is shared with the Audi R8; its name honors a Spanish fighting bull that fought in 1879.124

How to spot one

Look for

  • A six-sided outline frames the cockpit when viewed from the side.17
  • Y-shaped LED headlights repeat the body's hexagonal theme.17
  • Side ducts ahead of the rear wheels echo another set behind the cabin.17
  • EVO models have high central exhaust outlets and Y-shaped front-bumper details.5
  • Spyder models have a fabric roof that folds behind the passenger compartment.2

Year by year

  1. 2016

The rear-drive LP 580-2 gets a different front fascia and larger rear air vents than the original all-wheel-drive car.4

  2. 2017–2018

Performante adds a carbon-fiber rear wing and exhausts just above the diffuser; the Spyder follows in 2018.4

  3. 2019

The EVO facelift brings high central exhausts, Y-shaped bumper details and 20-inch Aesir wheels; an 8.4-inch center touchscreen updates the cabin.45

Don’t confuse it with

  • Lamborghini Aventador

The original LP 610-4 has outward-opening doors; the Aventador's open upward.3

  • Lamborghini Gallardo

The original Huracán has more open front air intakes and Y-shaped LED headlights.17

  • Huracán GT3 / Super Trofeo EVO

GT3 has a huge adjustable wing; Super Trofeo EVO adds a roof intake and rear fin. The STO brings the racing look to a road car.71819
