The story

The F4 Q4 e-tron arrived in 2021 to make Audi EV ownership more affordable. Its MEB platform links it to the Volkswagen ID.4 and Skoda Enyaq, with rear-wheel drive or twin-motor quattro.123

    Q4 concept debuts at Geneva

    The Geneva concept previewed the Q4 e-tron; lead designer Amar Vaya later put the production models at 95 percent identical to the concepts.45

    Audi production returns to Zwickau

    Production began in March: the first Audi made in Zwickau since the prewar era. Europe’s SUV launch followed in June, with the Sportback due in late summer.12

    The 35 offered 51.5/55 kWh usable/gross and 100 kW DC; the 40 and 50 quattro had 76.6/82 kWh and 125 kW. Two coolant circuits controlled temperatures.16

    Foshan’s FAW-Volkswagen plant began building the Q4 e-tron Sportback in November for the Chinese market.2

    55 upgrade: 335 hp and 175 kW charging

    A midyear 55 upgrade raised output from 295 to 335 hp. New battery chemistry brought 258-mile EPA range and DC charging up from 150 to 175 kW.10

  9. 2026

    Audi’s first bidirectional charging

    The refresh brought a panoramic dashboard and Audi’s first bidirectional charging, including V2L. Quattro performance DC charging rose to 185 kW.11
