The story

Made as a coupe-shaped alternative to the T-Cross, this Polo-based family debuted in Brazil as the Nivus in 2020 and reached Europe as the Taigo in 2021. Volkswagen said virtual development avoided physical prototypes and saved 10 months.1

Look for

  • A falling roof and steeply raked rear glass give the Taigo its coupe-SUV tail.18
  • On Taigo matrix-headlight versions, a light strip runs across the grille.12
  • Taigo headlights are trapezoid-shaped, linked by a broad grille with chrome trim.11
  • Original Nivus: a spoiler integrated into the rear hatch visually extends the coupe roofline.19
