The story

Arkana brought coupe-SUV styling to mainstream Europe in Renault's Renaulution push into the C-segment. Its name comes from Latin arcanum, meaning secret. By July 2023, sales totaled 163,000, or 240,000 including Korea's XM3.234

    A Moscow show car previews the Arkana; production versions follow first in Russia and then as Korea's XM3.5

    100 Edition One cars in three hours

    The Russian Arkana debuts in May; its first 100 Edition One cars sell through Renault's website in just three hours.26

    XM3 launches on February 21

    Busan-built XM3 starts the CMF-B branch in South Korea, attracting more than 22,000 early orders.12

    Europe inherits Captur's crash rating

    European sales start in March on CMF-B; the Euro NCAP rating comes from the 2019 Captur, whose structure and safety equipment it shares.378

    E-Tech 145: a 230 V full hybrid

    Europe adds E-Tech 145 with a 230 V, 1.2 kWh battery. Renault claims up to 80% electric driving time in town and up to 40% lower fuel use.7

    B0+ production ends

    Production of the B0+ branch stops in 2022, ending the original Russian Arkana's run early.2

    Esprit Alpine leads the facelift

    The European facelift adds flagship Esprit Alpine. At 4,568 mm long with 200 mm clearance, it has a 513 L boot, or 480 L in E-Tech form.24

  8. 2025

    France switches to stock cars only

    Factory orders close in France as Busan shifts toward Geely-based models. French sales have passed 100,000.9
