The story

Introduced in 2011 to succeed the Zonda, the Huayra combines a carbo-titanium tub and four moving aero flaps with Pagani's belief that art and science belong together. Say 'Why-ra': its name honors Huayra-tata, an Andean wind god.456

    BC honors Pagani's first customer

    The BC honors Benny Caiola, Pagani's first customer. Announced as a 20-car run, it reaches 1,218 kg dry, 132 kg below the original coupe.178

    Roadster loses its roof and 70 kg

    The Roadster reaches Geneva at 1,280 kg dry, 70 kg lighter than the original coupe. Its 100-car run is already sold out.1

    2:23.081 at Spa-Francorchamps

    Andrea Palma sets a road-legal-car record in the Roadster BC on P Zero Trofeo R tires, closing a validation program of more than 350,000 km.9

    Huayra R: 9,000 rpm without turbos

    A new HWA AG 6.0 L V12 gives the track-only Huayra R 838 hp without turbos and a 9,000 rpm redline. The planned run is 30 cars.1

    The hand-built Roadster BC records 1,384 kg curb and 3.3 seconds to 60 mph in testing, against a 1,250 kg dry claim.1310

Look for

  • On the original coupe, gullwing doors lift from the roof.117
  • Four separate aero flaps sit in the body, two in front and two at the rear.4
  • Four exhaust outlets sit together in the center of the tail.4
  • Mirrors perch on slender stalks.4
  • Fuller proportions than the Zonda's sharp, cab-forward silhouette.19

    Original Pacchetto Tempesta retrofit adds larger 20-inch front/21-inch rear wheels and more aggressive front and rear diffusers.25

  2. 2017: Roadster

    Removable roof and conventional doors replace the coupe's gullwings; the new engine cover has cooling vents.1

  3. 2017: Lampo

    One-off Lampo adds larger front openings and extra splitter/sill aero; its design nods to the Fiat Turbina concept.1

  4. 2019: Roadster BC

    Roadster BC adds a fixed rear wing and another pair of exhaust exits in the diffuser; an intake scoop is optional.11019

  5. 2021: BC Tempesta

    BC's later Pacchetto Tempesta gets an intake in the front splitter, a wing with a central fin and six exhaust pipes.14

  6. By October 2026

    Huayra 70 trilogy: green/orange Trionfo, orange/blue Derecho, Anima with platinum-leaf striping and a white six-pipe exhaust.26
