The story

Built to challenge the Porsche 911 Turbo, the 570S opened McLaren's Sports Series below the 650S and P1. The coupe used a carbon tub and weighed 1,356 kg dry or 1,452 kg with fluids.123

    New York debut for the 570S

    The first Sports Series model arrives in New York with 562 hp, 0–100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and a 328 km/h top speed; the 570S's sills are lowered by 80 mm.123

    570GT adds a side-opening luggage hatch

    Unveiled at Geneva, the 570GT trades some track focus for road trips, with a side-opening cargo hatch, softer suspension and better sound insulation.3

    2:47.4 at VIR

    The 570S hits 262 km/h on VIR's straight, but its conventional dampers replace pricier McLarens' hydraulics; it hunts for grip in the Climbing Esses.4

    570S Track Pack sheds about 25 kg

    The optional Track Pack pairs lighter wheels, carbon-fiber bucket seats and a sports exhaust with a higher rear spoiler.25

    570S Spider: 400 Launch Editions

    The Goodwood debut brings a hardtop that opens in 15 seconds. It adds 46 kg over the coupe without reducing structural rigidity; the first 400 are Launch Editions.36

    600LT production starts in October

    The 600LT raises output to 592 hp, sheds 96 kg versus the 570S and sends its exhaust through lightweight titanium pipes on top of the rear bodywork.3

    620R takes GT4 hardware onto the road

    Revealed in December, the road-legal 620R shares the 570S GT4's carbon tub and engine, freed from racing restrictions to deliver 612 hp and 620 Nm.3

    Artura follows the 2015–2021 570S era

    The Artura succeeds the Sports Series. Assembly had ended in December 2020 with the final 620R leaving Woking.37

Look for

  • The doors rise straight upward when opened.20
  • Look for feather-shaped door cutouts and a floating air guide along the doors.2021
  • Sports Series coupes have flying buttresses at the rear of the cabin.8
  • The regular 570S has slim LED taillights and rear diffuser styling borrowed from the P1.3
  • A huge canopy windshield sits above a short, sharply falling nose.22

    The optional 570S Track Pack adds a black roof, lighter wheels and a rear spoiler raised by 12 mm.25

  2. 2017 Spider

    A two-piece retractable hardtop joins the range; its rear spoiler sits 12 mm higher than the Coupe's.36

  3. 2017 Spider launch

    Curacao Blue, Vega Blue and Sicilian Yellow join the palette, with optional 10-spoke forged wheels.6

  4. 2018

    The 570 range gains a taller rear spoiler and more paint options.13

  5. 2018 570GT

    Carbon-ceramic brakes become standard; the optional Sport Pack adds grippier Pirelli tires and the 570S chassis setup.13
