How to spot one

Look for

  • Tall-roof, box-shaped five-door hatchback proportions.1
  • The 2014 shape has a snub nose, rearward-drooping side glass and tall lamps high on a flat tail.20
  • On the 2020 shape, look for a scowling nose and taillights that almost encircle the rear window.14
  • The 2020 design carries a Soul graphic on its rear roof pillars.8

Year by year

  1. 2011

Conventional pull-out door handles replace the earlier design.1

  2. 2012

Wider-looking bumper fascias and larger fog lamps mark the facelift; Exclaim gains LED daytime lights and taillights.3

  3. 2013

The grille surround switches to dark chrome.16

  4. 2014

Second-generation bodywork gains deeper lower-body sculpting, broader fender shoulders and more neatly integrated taillights.20

  5. 2020

The third generation adopts a scowling nose and taillights that nearly loop around the rear window.14

  6. 2023

An updated nose adds available LED headlights; rear fascia, lamps and alloys change. X-Line and Turbo disappear.11
