With three-door demand shrinking, Kia reinvented pro_cee’d as the 2019 ProCeed shooting brake, designed and engineered in Europe: five doors, a 594-liter trunk and a seven-year warranty.²

The pro_cee’d concept teased the coming three-door cee’d sports hatch, aimed at younger drivers seeking a sportier shape.^1,3

Revealed on September 11, the production pro_cee’d entered assembly on October 25, six weeks ahead of schedule.⁴

UK debut with seven-year cover
The pro_cee’d reached the UK in 2008, bringing a seven-year warranty to the three-door hatchback.^5,6

201 hp GT; 50 UK 1st Editions
Kia’s first performance model paired a twin-scroll 1.6 turbo with 265 Nm and a six-speed manual. The GT 1st Edition had a 50-car UK allocation.^7,8,9
2015
GT: new turbo, bigger brakes, vectoring
The GT kept 201 hp but lowered peak-torque revs by 250 rpm. Mainstream models gained 98/118 hp 1.0 turbos and a DCT option for the 134 hp diesel.¹⁰
2017
Frankfurt concept wears 19-layer red
The Proceed Concept previewed the shooting brake’s shape; Luminline traced the windows in light, while Lava Red needed 19 hand-applied layers.^2,11

Shooting brake GT: 100 km/h in 7.2s
The five-door ProCeed launched with a 594-liter trunk. Its 201 hp GT used a seven-speed DCT and matched the Ceed GT’s sprint despite weighing 46 kg more.^2,12
2021
Facelift brings the 1.5 Smartstream turbo
The UK facelift dropped diesel and added a 158 hp 1.5 Smartstream turbo with variable valve duration; the 201 hp GT kept its seven-speed DCT.^13,14
2024
UK exit; Spain keeps a mild hybrid
UK withdrawal followed about 10,000 sales since 2019. Spain’s MY2025 range continued with just a 1.5 mild-hybrid GT-Line.^5,15

How to spot one

Look for

First-generation cars use three doors, a low stance and a rear end reshaped from the five-door cee'd.¹
Second-generation three-doors have long front doors, a rising beltline and small triangular rear windows.^1,16
Second-generation cars have a steep rear window and tail lamps with a U-shaped LED signature.^1,7
ProCeed shooting brakes have a plunging roofline, chrome Sharkblades and blacked-out rear pillars.^2,21
Shooting brakes spell PROCEED across the tailgate below a full-width LED light strip.²

Facelift adds a new grille, new fog lamps, a wider reshaped front bumper and turn-signal repeaters on the mirrors.¹⁹
2013
The new three-door gets a slimmer tiger-nose grille, longer doors than the five-door and U-shaped LED tail lamps.^7,13
2015 GT update
GTs receive a new 18-inch wheel design and larger brakes; inside, the steering wheel gains a flat bottom.¹⁰
2019
The three-door becomes a five-door shooting brake, with a full-width rear LED strip above PROCEED tailgate lettering.^2,20
2021–2022
