The story

Built to carry seven, the Grand reached Paris in 2006 before the five-seat Picasso. Its 2013 successor kept the 4.59 m length but stretched the wheelbase to 2.84 m, with selected e-HDi 115 versions shedding 110 kg.123

    Paris debut, before the five-seater

    The seven-seat Grand C4 Picasso appeared at the Paris Motor Show in September; the five-seat C4 Picasso followed in January 2007.2

  2. 2007

    Auto Express MPV of the Year

    The original C4 Picasso and seven-seat Grand shared Auto Express MPV of the Year honors.4

  3. 2010

    October facelift brings e-HDi

    VTR+ and Exclusive gained LED running lights; e-HDi linked stop-start and the HDi 110 FAP diesel to a six-speed automated manual.45

    EMP2: longer wheelbase, less weight

    The second Grand kept its 4.59 m length but gained an 11 cm longer, 2.84 m wheelbase. Selected e-HDi 115 versions were 110 kg lighter.13

  5. 2015

    BlueHDi brings torque-converter EAT6

    With the BlueHDi range, the second generation replaced its ETG6 automated manual with an Aisin six-speed torque-converter automatic.2

    New face, new trims, third MPV crown

    A revised bumper and Touch Edition, Feel and Flair trims arrived in September. The Grand also took its third consecutive Auto Express MPV of the Year win.67

  7. 2018

    Picasso becomes SpaceTourer

    The Grand C4 Picasso became Grand C4 SpaceTourer, while an eight-speed automatic replaced the previous six-speed.2

    Origins celebrates 100 years

    Japan's Grand C4 SpaceTourer Origins celebrated Citroën's 100th year with black mirrors, a panoramic glass roof and Origins front-door decals.8

  9. 2022

    July ends Citroën's dedicated MPV line

    Grand C4 SpaceTourer production ended in July at Vigo, Spain, leaving Citroën without a dedicated MPV and with no direct replacement planned.23

How to spot one

Look for

  • First generation: a vast up-and-over windshield and split front pillars.2914
  • Second generation: roof arches rise from the windshield base and frame the side glass.1215
  • Second generation: LED running lights sit above the main headlights and connect to the chevrons.12

    Rounded chevrons and black-edged taillights; VTR+ and Exclusive gain LED strips below the headlights.4511

  2. 2013

    New roof arches, LED running lights above separate headlights and deep-set 3D LED rear lamps define the second generation.12

  3. 2016 facelift

    New bumper, C-shaped chrome fog-light surrounds, larger air intakes and a more prominent chevron badge; revised 3D LED taillights.6

  4. 2016 color options

    Lazuli Blue, Soft Sand and Cumulus Grey join the colors; a contrasting black roof becomes optional.6
