Victor Gauntlett希望推出一款更小、更親民的Aston，幫公司撐過難關。Ford挹注資金，加上Walter Hayes居中推動，DB7才得以問世；車身由Ian Callum操刀，TWR負責工程，底盤則改造自Jaguar XJS。25
