The story

The 2007 Expert Tepee was built for families and commercial passenger transport. Its optional pneumatic rear suspension lowers the body to 1.894 m, clearing underground car parks.12

    The PSA–Fiat original

    The first generation runs from 1995 to 2006, built at Sevel Nord in France on the Peugeot 806's platform.3

  2. 2000

    HDi joins the original Expert

    HDi diesels arrive. Later, two equally powerful HDi versions use 12- or 16-valve heads, with 250 or 270 Nm respectively.4

  3. 2007

    Tepee brings nine-seat flexibility

    Generation two runs from 2007 to 2016. The Tepee targets families and passenger transport, with up to nine seats and removable rear rows.125

  4. 2012

    Euro 5, an automatic and Toyota

    The Tepee gains a six-speed automatic and Euro 5 diesels. PSA signs a supply deal with Toyota, paving the way for Proace.6

  5. 2016

    Toyota helps shape generation three

    Developed with Toyota, generation three arrives in 2016. Combi keeps up to nine seats in three lengths; Traveller is the dedicated passenger sibling.57

  6. 2021

    Hydrogen adds a plug-in battery

    The e-Expert Hydrogen enters production at the end of 2021, combining a fuel cell with a 10.5 kWh lithium-ion battery.5

  7. 2024

    Facelift reaches the Combi

    The revised Expert goes on sale in April 2024, with a new front end and more cabin equipment. The E-Expert Combi facelift also becomes available to order.58

  8. 2025

    2.2 diesel and EAT8 in the Combi

    The nine-seat 2.2 diesel Combi pairs 177 hp and 400 Nm with EAT8. It can tow 1,900 kg braked or 750 kg unbraked.9

How to spot one

Look for

  • 2007 Tepee: large, flush-fitting side windows and a forward-set sliding door.119
  • Tepee rear: boxy tail, large window and a tailgate; glazed hinged rear doors were also available.1
  • 2016 Expert: short, wide hood, upright grille and a wraparound front bumper.7
  • Third-generation Expert: check Peugeot badges against similar Dispatch, Scudo, Proace and Vivaro cousins.58

Year by year

  1. 2004

    The first generation gets a completely reshaped nose; larger bumpers add 40 mm to overall length.34

  2. 2012

    The grille gains chrome edging and new Peugeot lettering; the front bumper and some lamp details also change.620

  3. 2016

    The new generation adopts a short, wide hood, an upright grille and a wraparound front bumper.7

  4. 2024

    New front styling and 10-inch driver and touchscreen displays arrive; the Compact body disappears from the range.8
