The story

Built to surpass the Veyron, the Chiron uses two-stage turbocharging to tame lag. Achim Anscheidt led its design with Frank Heyl, Sasha Selipanov and Etienne Salome.245

    The Veyron's successor debuts on March 1. The original Chiron measures 4,544 × 2,038 × 1,212 mm (L/W/H); 500 are planned for Molsheim.25

    Juan Pablo Montoya sets the acceleration-and-braking record at Ehra-Lessien; the Chiron completes the maneuver in 3.112 km.236

    Chiron Sport sheds 18 kg

    The Sport adds stiffer suspension and torque vectoring, plus a purpose-built carbon-fiber windshield wiper.27

  4. 2019

    490.484 km/h at Ehra-Lessien

    Andy Wallace drives a modified Chiron prototype to 490.484 km/h. TÜV certifies the one-direction run; FIA and Guinness require a two-way average.38

  5. 2022

    L’Ébé ends Europe's Chiron and Sport

    One Chiron and two Chiron Sport wear Art Deco details for the final European deliveries of those two versions.9

  6. 2022

    Profilée: 0–100 km/h in 2.3 seconds

    All 500 slots are taken as pre-series work begins, leaving the Profilée a one-off approved for European roads.210

  7. 2024

    L’Ultime: Chiron number 500

    The 500-car run ends in May with the Super Sport L’Ultime, assembled by hand in Molsheim; the Tourbillon succeeds the Chiron.12

  • A huge C-shaped side line wraps around the passenger compartment.16
  • Look for the horseshoe-shaped front grille.2
  • Original cars group the exhausts centrally; Super Sport versions use vertical pairs at the sides.1113

    Chiron Sport introduces four round exhaust outlets.27

  2. 2019

    Super Sport 300+ adds a roughly 25 cm longer tail, vented fenders and vertically stacked exhausts.213

  3. 2020

    Pur Sport adds a fixed rear wing, a wider horseshoe grille and optional aero-blade wheels.213

  4. 2021

    Super Sport pairs the long tail with redesigned wheels and paint in place of the 300+'s bare carbon.211

  5. 2024

    L’Ultime, the final Super Sport, wears fading blue paint, handwritten place names and 500 markings.1
