Für sein M-Topmodell kombinierte BMW den Luxus der 8er-Reihe mit dem Tempo des M5 und M5 Competition. Der 2019 vorgestellte M8 kam fast zwei Jahre nach seinem Rennwagen und wurde von Marcus Syring und Jacek Pepłowski gestaltet.45

    Der Renn-M8 feierte in Frankfurt Premiere, fast zwei Jahre bevor die Straßenversionen in die Verkaufsräume kamen.45

    Die viertürige Studie nahm den Gran Coupe vorweg; die spätere First Edition griff die GOLDBRONZE-Akzente am Exterieur auf.56

    F91 Convertible und F92 Coupe starteten mit 600 hp, in Competition-Ausführung mit 617 hp, dazu M Mode und einstellbare Bremscharakteristik in Comfort und Sport.457

    Im Oktober kam der F93 als Viertürer hinzu. 7,9 zusätzliche inches zwischen den Achsen schufen mehr Platz im Fond als im Coupe.56

    Vier Coupes, zwei Convertibles und zwei Gran Coupes besiegelten das Ende der Baureihe in Japan. Jedes Exemplar trug im Innenraum ein „The Final Edition – 1 of 8“-Emblem.12

    Produktion in Dingolfing endet im Oktober
